Voices Unsilenced: Storytelling Against Stigma

  • Kampala, Uganda
  • Free and open to all

Voices Unsilenced uses the power of lived experience to break stigma and spark hope. People in recovery stand up in schools, universities, places of worship and community halls and tell the truth about addiction and healing.

The campaign combines public storytelling events with community dialogues and school sensitisation sessions. After every event our counsellors stay behind to talk privately with anyone who wants support, and to arrange referrals and ongoing mentorship.

Many of the people who reach out to us for the first time do so after hearing a story that sounds like their own.
