Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across this website. Accessibility is part of how we design and write every page, not something added afterwards.
What we have done
- Keyboard access. Every link, button, menu and form can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline.
- Skip link. A “Skip to content” link lets keyboard and screen reader users jump straight past the navigation.
- Clear structure. Pages use meaningful headings, landmarks and labelled forms so that assistive technology can describe them accurately.
- Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations and moving text are switched off.
- Readable text and contrast. Body text is set at a comfortable size, and colours are chosen to meet contrast requirements. You can zoom up to 200 percent without losing content.
- Images. Meaningful images have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Plain language. We write simply and avoid jargon, especially on pages about getting help.
- Light pages. Images are compressed and the site works on mobile data and smaller screens.
Known limitations
- The embedded Google Map on our contact page is provided by Google and may not be fully accessible. Our full address is always written out next to it.
- Stories and photos shared by our community may occasionally lack detailed image descriptions.
- Pages operated by others, such as Donorbox and WhatsApp, follow their own accessibility standards.
We are working to improve these areas and test the site regularly with keyboard and screen reader users.
